It isn’t all hard work being a member of the U3A. There are plenty of opportunities to go on trips and outings. Some of these are organised by individual groups, whilst others are organised by the Social Committee.
In 2011 outings to a variety of different places and events took place. These included: Highgrove and Westonbirt Arboretum, Cambridge, Blists Hill, The National Memorial Arboretum and Thursford Christmas Spectacular. The 2012 programme is now in full swing - see to the right for the outline of trips with dates.
Details of outings and social events, the contact details of the trip organiser are published in Newsline and are available at the monthly meeting. In order to secure a place on an advertised trip you are required to complete an application form. This can be obtained either from the trip organiser or by clicking here.
Some of the coach companies that we use for our outings will accept folding buggies, light weight wheel chairs and/or wheeled walking frames. So, if you use one of these mobility devices and would like to go on one of the outings, please check with the person organising the trip to inform them of your requirements.
